Poland Announces Updated E-Invoicing Mandate Schedule

The Polish Ministry of Finance has announced important updates regarding the implementation timeline for the National e-Invoicing System (KSeF), impacting taxpayers across sectors in Poland.

Poland published a highly anticipated announcement on April 26 regarding the updated schedule of the e-invoicing mandate implementation. This marks a crucial development in the country's fiscal infrastructure, affecting taxpayers across various sectors.

Key dates on the revised timeline for compliance:

  • February 1, 2026: Deadline for taxpayers with turnover exceeding PLN 200 million (~EUR 46 million) in the previous year.
  • April 1, 2026: Deadline for all other taxpayers to implement the e-Invoicing System.

Reasons for delay and Ministry actions

The revised schedule represents a significant delay from the original plan of July 2024. Technical audits revealed system architecture issues such as a lack of project transparency and insufficient organizational oversight in the prior administration, possibly leading to a complete reconstruction.

The Ministry of Finance emphasized the importance of this decision in preventing economic disruption. As a result, a comprehensive reconstruction of the system architecture will be undertaken with the support of specialized IT architecture professionals.
